Biophony | Rivers | Woodlands| Uplands | Sea & Coast

The "Sea & Coast" section of Biophony took place in and around Cardigan Bay, where the local wildlife includes Atlantic grey seals, bottlenose dolphins and harbour porpoises.

Ahead of the music workshops, CMW and Seawatch Foundation took the musicians on a boat trip around Cardigan Bay to record wildlife and take inspiration from their surroundings. This was followed by 2 and a half days of music workshops led by composers James Williams and Pete Stacey.

The workshops culminated in an intensive recording session, where the sounds of gongs, guitars, celtic harps and voices melded with the sounds of the wildlife in Cardigan Bay to create innovative new music.
